The room is easiest to reach by telephone, and hardest to reach at six in the evening.

Those three hours are when the room is not cooking and someone can talk properly. Outside them the telephone rings in an empty room, or in a busy one, and neither is much use to you.

If the line is engaged we are cleaning or plating. It is worth trying again in ten minutes rather than leaving a message.

Finding the door

There is no sign.

The frontage is an unmarked indigo noren and a paper lantern. If the lantern is lit, the first seating has begun; if it is dark, the room is not serving that night. Guests walk past it regularly, and we have made our peace with that.

Evangelismos metro is a six-minute walk uphill. The Pinakothiki car park is two blocks east on Asklepiou, and Skoufa itself is resident parking only after seven.

Arrive within ten minutes of your seating. The sequence is timed against the rice and it cannot be paused.
